Jaeya loves that song "Jerk" & even knows all the words & dance moves. She even asked her daddy to PLEASE put that song on a CD for her so she can listen to it in MOMMY'S car. So her daddy does just that...that ONE single song on a CD so that it plays over & over again! Me hearing that song over & over in so many random places, I was kind of hesitant to even let her play it. But i said WTH why not...if it jumps starts her morning then KOO!!! So as I hear her singing "you're a Jerk, you're a Jerk....I know" I find myself bobbing my head & singing in my head... "you're a Jerk...I know." So NOW I like that dang song! (I think maybe bc I'm a Jerk at times & I know I am.) lol
So of course all this leads to You Tube & Jaeya watching the video & doing the Reject & the Jerk to the song. I have to admit I like the dance The Jerk...koo lil fly dance...got that lil lean to it... got you dippin low. So YES you guessed it...I now know how to Jerk!!! hahaha Hey, I still got my moves so I'm not embarrassing anyone & that's all that matters. lol
So then it got me thinking of all the old school dances & how they were much more FLY than these silly dances out today. Like the Running Man, Robo-Cop, Smurf, Troop, Nissan, Cabbage Patch, The Wop, The Snake, Kid n Play, Roger Rabbit & the FAVE The Freak! New Skool got nothing on Old School!!!!
But have you seen the Reject? It's like doing the Running Man Backwards?!?! Have you seen the Colors they are wearing now? Yup Cross Colors are back! Those suede slouch boots? Yup we had those first, wearing them with tight mini skirts & dresses. Yup and those bamboo earrings at least two pair??? YUP!!! We rocked those too. Only thing I'm waiting for is Overalls & Air brushed EVERYTHING..oh and banana clips. But i would SO SPORT those!!!
So after all the hating & all the biting... I guess i can't say that the New Skool is TOTALLY whack bc I TOO was into all that at one time. I can't say 100% though that i like all these new trends like the skinny jeans on boys & Men???? Just CAN'T DO IT!!!
